1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how ABAB Cam ("ABAB Cam", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service").

ABAB Cam is operated by ABAB Labs. This Policy is intended to be clear about our current data practices for app store review and for users. It is not legal advice.

2. What ABAB Cam Does

ABAB Cam is a discovery and aggregation platform for publicly available webcams, livestreams, news streams, and related location information.

We display and organize links, embeds, thumbnails, map markers, and metadata supplied by third-party stream operators, video platforms, map providers, or public sources.

We do not own or operate most cameras or streams, and we do not record or store third-party live video content on our own servers except for transient technical processing that may be necessary to operate the Service.

3. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly: if you contact us, report an issue, submit feedback, or request support, we may collect your email address and the content of your message.

Technical and usage information: when you use the Service, we or our service providers may collect IP address, device type, operating system, browser or app version, language, pages or screens viewed, interactions, referring URLs, approximate region inferred from IP address, crash logs, and performance diagnostics.

Stream and map interactions: we may process which streams, countries, cities, or map markers are viewed or opened so that we can operate, debug, secure, and improve the Service.

Cookies and local storage: on the website, we may use cookies or local storage to remember preferences such as theme and to measure performance. In the mobile app, similar local device storage may be used for preferences and app state.

4. Mobile App Permissions

The current version of ABAB Cam does not require users to create an account and does not require access to contacts, microphone, camera, photos, SMS, phone logs, health data, or precise device location for the core viewing experience.

The app displays camera and stream locations; these are locations of public streams or approximate map points, not the user's live location.

If a future version adds optional features that request sensitive permissions, such as precise location for a "nearby cameras" feature or push notifications for alerts, the app will request permission through the operating system and explain the purpose before or at the time permission is requested.

5. Third-Party Services

ABAB Cam depends on third-party services to operate, including hosting and infrastructure providers, database providers, analytics or crash-reporting tools if enabled, app stores, video platforms such as YouTube, and map or geocoding providers.

When you view an embedded stream or open a third-party source link, that third party may receive information such as your IP address, device information, and viewing activity according to its own privacy policy and terms.

We are responsible for choosing third-party SDKs and services carefully, but we do not control the privacy practices of independent third-party websites, video platforms, camera operators, or map providers.

6. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service; display streams and map content; respond to support requests; monitor performance and usage; prevent misuse; comply with legal obligations; and protect our rights and users.

7. Sharing of Information

We may share information with service providers that help us host, store, analyze, secure, and operate the Service; with app stores and platform providers as necessary for distribution and crash reporting; with third-party stream or map providers when users interact with their content; and with authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information to build hidden user profiles, and we do not knowingly share personal information for cross-app tracking without any consent required by applicable law or platform rules.

8. App Store Privacy and Data Safety

For app store privacy disclosures, our current practices may involve collection or processing of contact information you provide for support, identifiers such as IP address or device identifiers used by service providers, usage data, diagnostics, and approximate location inferred from IP address.

Actual App Store Connect and Google Play Data safety answers must match the final app build, SDKs, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, push notification, and permission usage included in that build. If the app changes, the store disclosures and this Policy should be updated.

9. Legal Bases for Processing

Where European or similar data protection laws apply, we process personal data based on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, respond to requests, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

ABAB Cam currently does not require user accounts. If you contact us and want us to delete support messages or personal information associated with your request, email us at support@abablabs.com. We may retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate business records.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including HTTPS for data transmission where applicable and restricted access to operational systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can control many device permissions through your operating system settings. You can also stop using the Service or uninstall the mobile app at any time.

14. International Transfers

The Service may be operated from the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. Changes are effective when posted unless otherwise stated.
